Grave of Martha Jane "Ginny" [Bushby] Brady - Rookwood Cemetery According to Kathy McDonnell, "I found her grave at Rookwood Cemetery hoping to find some clues. She has no headstone which is unbelievable given some of her brothers were master craftsmen/stonemasons." |

Maria Buchanan Aitken Schwebel Grave - Rookwood Cemetery Burial at Rookwood Independent Cemetery, New South Wales. Buried 8 Sep 1885. Inscription reads: "In Memory of Maria Buchanan the beloved wife of Adam Schwöbel who died 8th Sept 1885 aged 35 years. Also Ernest infant son of the above, died 19th Oct 1885 aged 4 months."
The verse is from the hymn "Submissive to Thy Will My God" by Thomas Haweis 1734-1820. The hymn is as follows:
Submissive to thy will, my God,
I all to thee resign,
And bow before thy chastening rod,
I mourn, but not repine.
Why should my foolish heart complain,
Where wisdom, truth, and love
Direct the stroke, inflict the pain
And point to joys above?
How short are all my sufferings here,
How needful every cross;
Away, my unbelieving fear
Nor call my gain my loss.
Then give, dear Lord, or take away,
I'll bless thy sacred name;
My Jesus, yesterday, to-day,
Forever is the same. |
