Commissioner for Pensions - Letter dated 18 May 1918 "In response to your letter of the tenth instant, you are advised that it appears that Major General John Stark was allowed a pension by a Special Act of Congress dated December 28, 1818, at the rate of $60 per month, commencing August 16, 1817. The certificate of pension issued January 15, 1819, and was sent to Caleb Stark, Pembroke, New Hampshire. He was also allowed 850 acres of bounty land under Warrant No. 1879, which issued May 30, 1796. There is no further data on file relative to family or services [...]"
