Loading... Arthur Mickelsen in his "every day" uniform at West Point
In his early teens Arthur worked in the Nash auto factory and then for the Kenosha Evening News as a "cub" reporter. The editor took a liking to him and asked if he would like to go to a school that paid him. Arthur said, "Sure!" He'd dropped out of high school so he had to study for his GED and pass the entrance exam for West Point. He passed, and entered West Point in July 1916.
