- Thomas Crumplet was one of the 60 men of Lytchett Matravers who signed the Protestation of 1641-42, Parliament's protest against the King's "arbitrary and tyrannical government", which every man over 18 had to sign. So he was born before about 1624. (Shirley Percival, A Dorset Village: Lytchett Matravers, 1982, page 21.) Not yet connected to the rest of this tree: he is probably a forebear or relative of the later Lytchett Matravers Crumplers. If you know where he fits, please tell us.
