    According to Pat Dommett, "The Haymaking photo is with Clara Crumpler on the left. Possibly Reverdy the little boy on her left. If it is, he was born in 1901, which would make the picture about 1904. Much of this is guess-work, but that could be Jesse on the rick (left) with straw hat, and Reverdy's brother Percy (b.1898) in the forefront centre."

    The 1901 census shows Jesse Crumpler as a Bailiff-on-farm at Home Farm, North Coker, Somerset. He is 28, married, and a worker. With him are his wife Clara (age 31), daughter Brenda A.S. (age 5), and sons Percival H. (age 2), Douglas E.D. (age 1), and Robert R. (1 month). Also in residence are niece Winifred M. Legg (single, age 19) and sister-in-law Louisa M. Legg (age 48, married).
