 | Letter of Aunt Wiser-Herzog in Solothurn, dated 30 Dec 1875 - From Niedergösgen - Eine Reise durch die Geschichte by Beat Holder, 2008 Translated by Ingeborg Gowans:
[...]
Bruno's (17) last news sound quite favourable.
[51]
reporting that.. he has a fairly profitable income, lives in a place where there are many Germans, and even found someone from Solothurn, his family is enjoying good health, and added a boy to the clan (since he wrote last). However, months have passed again since he last wrote this letter, who knows how he is doing now? I had to struggle with my strong desire to see him and the dear children. I found it often unbearable to live without my dear Marie who is close to my heart and each time when I think of this precious child, I have to fight back tears.

![Location of Alice [Bushby] Raby's Grave Location of Alice [Bushby] Raby's Grave](headstones/thumb_Alice-Raby-Grave.jpg) | Location of Alice [Bushby] Raby's Grave Status: Located; Sue Keller kindly took this photograph at Oakwood Hill Cemetery in April 2009. She e-mailed, "I located 75% of the graves listed on the spreadsheet for Block 9 at Oakwood. There is a marker for J.A. Walter, but only empty grass on both sides of him. Alice has no marker. There was one old marker that was impossible to read. It appeared to say "Baby" across the top, but it was worn and could possibly be Raby. I cannot read the lettering by sight. I could do a rubbing on a dry day and see if there is a chance that it is her's. Typically the surname is the large word across the top of a stone, so it left me wondering. Most of the graves in that area are 1918 flu epidemic graves and so most are from 1918-1919."
