About 1911, Uncle Frank and his partner Mr. Nelson organized the Nelson-Crumpler Hardware Company which also served as a mortuary. In this same year, a bank was organized in Leesburg, Texas with Frank as cashier and the city was in the middle of a prohibition campaign. At about this same time, Pittsburg was trying to get natural gas for their city. In 1933, Uncle Frank was serving as a tax assessor/collector for Pittsburg. The masonic lodge of Pittsburg was formed on January 22, 1858 and in 1958 during the 100th anniversary of the Frank Sexton Lodge, the Most Worshipful Grand Master, John G. Kemmerer of Fort Worth presented a 50-year service pin to A. Frank Crumpler. Frank held a life membership in the lodge and in 1957 he was voted a life membership in the Pittsburg commandery. He was a Past Commander of the Pittsburg commandery and served as Master of the Lodge in 1914-15. His service included 35 years as the Treasurer of the lodge and 32 years as the Recorder of the commandery.
