reporting that.. he has a fairly profitable income, lives in a place where there are many Germans, and even found someone from Solothurn, his family is enjoying good health, and added a boy to the clan (since he wrote last). However, months have passed again since he last wrote this letter, who knows how he is doing now? I had to struggle with my strong desire to see him and the dear children. I found it often unbearable to live without my dear Marie who is close to my heart and each time when I think of this precious child, I have to fight back tears.
