"Services for Lois Jean Schamber Singley will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Eversole Mortuary.
"Mrs. Singley died Saturday, March 28, 1998. She was 68.
"Born Oct 4, 1929 in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was the daughter of Eugene and Peggy Schamber and attended Anna Head Private High School in Berkeley from 1945 to 1946. She graduated from Ukiah High School in 1948. After high school, she worked for AT&T from 1948 to 1953.
"Mrs. Singley had lived in Ukiah since 1937 and was involved with numerous organizations, including Job's Daughters, Wool Growers/Bo-Peeps, Sun House guild, and the Mendocino County Election Board. She also was also an advocate for the handicapped.
"Mrs. Singley is survived her her husband, George Singley of Ukiah; son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Kathy singley of Santa Fe, N.M.; sister, Ruth Hill of Sun City West, Arizona; grandchildren Clint, Lauren and Michael Singley, all of Santa Fe, N.M.; nephews Tom Hill of Ukiah and Jim Hill of Santa Rosa; and numerous great-nephews, nieces and cousins.
"Memorial contributons may be made to Easter Seals, 501B N. Main, Lakeport, CA 95453."
