Newspaper Article - Jesse Crumpler and His Farm Operations

Jesse Crumpler from North Coker (near Yeovil) produces T.T. [tuberculin-tested] milk, and "for the last five we have been supplying St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. Our present contract is for 200 gallons a day. In addition, we retail about 100 gallons daily, apart from a large retail trade in butter and a certain amount of cream.

"Our farms at North Coker comprise 350 acreas all but 50 being grass. We mil about 120 cows, non-pedigree Dairy Shorthorns, with registered bulls. Heifer calves for replacement are reared and the bulls disposed of either for veal or stock -- mostly the latter."
